Because There Can Never Be Too Much Potty Talk On This Blog

While Julia used to tell me that she would use the potty chair when she "gets a little bigger--later--before preschool," she has now changed her tune and says that she is not going to ever use the potty, because she is not going to go to preschool, because she does not WANT to go to preschool, because she's "too little" to go to preschool.

Um, listen. If you're two weeks away from three years old, and you're as tall as a four-year-old and possibly heavier than your five-year-old cousin, and you READ FIELD GUIDES for entertainment, YOU'RE NOT TOO LITTLE FOR PRESCHOOL. Got it? Not too little. Not.

Mama no likey.

Just be patient. This is just a bit of the usual rebellion against mother and life in general that most girls exhibit. It will end in about 19 or 20 years

Yep--exactly my fear.

That's a scary one, eh? Just tell her she's right and leave it at that! Easier said than done...

Oh boy.
Remember, the more you stress about it, the more she'll dig her heels in. She WILL be potty trained. Just stock up on some carpet cleaner and laundry detergent.

I've totally dropped the subject (again--but this time for real). I'm taking everyone's advice and ignoring it. She'll probably train herself on August 14th. (Tuition refunds are up on the 15th.) If not...we'll cross that bridge when we come to it, size 6 diapers in hand (and on bottoms).
