Milestone: Update (or: Shameless Writerly Self-Promotion)

As promised: here is my newly published essay in the current issue of Macalester Today, not available online. Click the image below to see a readable version. Hope you like it.

And please graciously ignore the grammatical error toward the end. Sometimes things happen during the editing process. (I was an English major. Enough said.)

Very nice essay! I especially liked the opening anecdote ;-). Congrats on another fine publication. And thanks for scanning it so we could all take a look!

Yes, I always thought I should be able to include some little credit to snarky squab for the original inspiration-inducing conversation. :)

Congratulations again! You know what I think of your essay. It's lovely and inspiring. And I nearly swooned when you called me "dear" on Christopher's blog!:)

Thank you! And let it be known that I would place bets that pretty much everyone who knows Rob calls him "dear." Don't you all think?

An excellent article and such a good attiutude you have that all of us can learn from. I always thought I would do more with my PhD than just reject job offers. Sometimes it is hard for me to come to terms with that and I appreciated reading your perspective.
